Frequently Asked Questions
How do I book a hen weekend?
Check our availability calendar for the Lodge of your choice, if your weekend is free then phone Paudie 086 2535285 and ask him to hold your weekend provisionally. This allows you 5 working days to post a cheque/bank draft for €500. This should be made out to Paudie Barry and posted to Mount Desert Lodge, Lee Road, Cork.
When is the balance due?
The balance is paid 1 month prior to the date of the hen weekend.
How do we organise the activities?
A phone call to Paudie 086 2535285 to match his local knowledge of activities available with the hen group preferences would be a good start.
What is involved in the Hen night out package?
The Hen Party is collected at 6.15pm from the Lodge by minibus and brought to a gourmet restaurant for an early bird meal. After a delicious meal, the Hen Party is brought to a pub, where seating is already reserved. After the pub, the hen party will enjoy a VIP entry into a nearby nite club. This all prepaid for, the only thing you will have to pay for is drink and your taxi home.
What is involved in the Hen night in package?
The Hen Party is introduced to the Comedy Murder Mystery game at 6.15pm and each of you will be given a Nun’s costume and the comedy. The game is designed to get everyone chatting and laughing and is timed to weave around a 4 course dinner party hosted by your Private Chef, Sister Darina. The game is facilitated by a professional improvisation comedian and is timed to finish at 10.30pm, when we can organise a minibus to take your group into town for last drinks.
What if I want to book accommodation only?
That’s fine, in that case you only pay for accommodation.
Are pillows, pillow slips, duvets, duvet covers and sheets all supplied?
Yes
Do you supply towels etc?
We only supply soap and hand towels.
Is there parking?
Lee Valley Lodge yes lots, Inchydoney Surf Lodge only 2 spaces but phone Paudie if this may be an issue.
How do we get around if there will be 12+ of us?
We put you in touch with our local minibus operator and he will treat you as a very regular customer, as we put lots of business his way.
Is there somewhere to eat and drink locally?
In Inchydoney there is a 5 star hotel a short stroll from Surf Lodge that has a bar and very good bar food at a reasonable price. Near Lee Valley Lodge there are a number of premium restaurants. Phone Paudie 086 2535285 for more details.
What about Spa treatments?
There are excellent facilities near both our Lodges for Spa treatments.
How do we collect the key?
No need, there is a combination key lock on the door. Once you enter the code, the key is released and you open the door. Then you replace the key in the combination lock for the next person. Phone Paudie on 086 2535285 for the code a few days before your hen weekend.
Is 16 the maximum group size?
Yes, but ask Paudie if it’s only 1 or 2 extra.
Who is responsible for any damages?
This normally isn’t an issue as we only deal with non boisterous groups, if there is damage to any property then that damage must be paid for.
Is there a check in/check out time?
We are relaxed, come anytime after lunch on a Friday and leave anytime on Sunday evening.
What if we only want to book the Lodge for a Saturday night?
We only do weekend bookings.
